Ivey’s provides cellular telephones to some TM’s as a business tool. They are provided to assist TM’s in communicating with Management and other TM’s, their Clients, Associates, and Others with whom they may conduct business. Cell phone use is primarily intended for business-related calls. However, occasional, brief personal use is permitted within a reasonable limit. Cell phone invoices may be regularly monitored.
While Driving or Operating Equipment
When driving, cell phone usage is restricted to current FMCA standards
*Phones must be put in a hands free device, mounted close to the driver.
*Current regulations call for the following compliance: While operating a CMV on a roadway, including moving forward or temporarily stationary because of traffic, signals, or delays – No Reaching, No Holding, No Dialing, No Texting, No Reading.
Proper Usage – TM’s may use an earpiece or speaker phone function, use voice activated dialing, and dial by pushing a single button.
Use of Personal Cell phone while operating an Ivey’s vehicle in manner referred to above is forbidden.
Cellphone or Earbud use is strictly forbidden while operating forklifts.
Personal Cellphones (Smartwatches, Tablets, ETC)
While at work, employees are expected to exercise discretion in using personal cellphones or other devices. Excessive personal calls, texting, or general usage during the workday can interfere with employee productivity and be distracting to others. Employees are encouraged to make any personal calls during nonwork time or while on break out of customer sight.
Ivey’s will not be liable for the loss of personal cellphones brought into the workplace.
