Shopping at Ivey’s should always be an easy, welcoming process for our customers. With that said, there are a few policies in place to protect our business from potential fraudulent transactions.
Credit Card Policy – If a customer wants to pay with a credit card, the card must be inserted with the chip into one of our CC processors. If they are asking to pay over the phone, a credit card will not be accepted unless they either have a Cash Account, or Charge Account with us. If they wish to do this, they will give the info that we need to put on file and the transaction will be done through that account. Beware of any customer who is calling from a distance looking to get product delivered or picked up by third party freight.
Check policy – If check is less than $500. Please ensure the check is filled out correctly, including: Date, Payee (Ivey’s), Dollar amount, written dollar amount, signature. We then ask for an ID. Make sure the ID matches the check. Write down the ID/DL number and phone number. Get a fingerprint on check
If the check is more than $500, we verify funds. To verify funds, call the bank the check is written on and say: “I need to verify funds on a check please.” You then give the bank the account number off the check and dollar amount. If it is good you take the check. If it isn’t do not take. Please ask for another way to pay. If bank is not available Manager will make decision.
